It's unusual, but not unheard of. I'd be more interested in why they sought a legal opinion before a second accounting opinion. As I said weeks ago, on a plain reading of the standard PNC is classifying the PDLs correctly. An accounting opinion from another Big 4 firm would carry far more weight than a lawyer the company has paid to provide an opinion.
