The Broken Hill City Council has voted to postpone making a decision on a proposal by CBH Resources to conduct ancillary mining activities at its Rasp Mine.
The company has put in a development application to crush, stockpile and transport ore from the Rasp Mine for two years.
Councillor Tom Kennedy asked at last night's meeting to defer a decision until the council's next meeting on January 27, which was agreed to unanimously.
Deputy Mayor Neville Gasmier says the postponement will give all concerned stakeholders an opportunity to put their views forward.
"There was a late submission from residents of Broken Hill and to be fair, we need time to consume that information and give them an opportunity and council staff an opportunity to talk to them," he said.
