cost of trading on the asx

The ASX have just announced new fees they charge the brokers to trade.

They charge 0.15bps (a 15th of a percent) of the total trade value.

So without taking into account the rebates they offer it costs $1.50 to execute a $10k trade on the ASX.

To execute a $50 trade costs 7.5c

and that my friends is why the instos can afford to split up their orders into tiny parcels.
