Yes, looks like a small "loss" compared to cost base.
My understanding is that once the ATO gives a final thumbs up on the cost base we will know for sure.
I presume that a CYB cost base of $4.00 would mean the cost base for our NAB holdings would drop by $1.00 per share (ie 1 CYB received for each 4 NAB)? I don't think any of the distribution was going to be a "dividend" but maybe that gets confirmed by the ATO as well?
Of course, this CYB loss is only the taxation interpretation. We may all be far better off as a result of the demerger - but with the current volatility affecting the banks its a little hard to be sure!
