I actually now hope the rail line is built and the coal mine is prepared to its full capacity and this will take 3-5 odd years perhaps. Then workers will be employed to do this prelim works.
In 5 years time the price of coal will hopefully be such that it will be uncommercial to mine anyway.
As long as the workers are employed AND PAID I think the mine will die a natural death. But coal miners need to prepare to change profession I think.
As a taxpayer I'm not prepared to give Adani any concessions.
But everyone gets concessions for business, so it's business as usual, just in this case the pollution will kill us all off.
We now know this whereas 40 years ago when we didn't know much about carbon pollution it wasn't so bad....maybe
We knew pollution in general was bad but it seemed such a big world and what could I as an individual do. Now the groundswell of opposition to coal and fossil fuels is such that we are examining our own use of these products, but at the moment we rely on them and will do so for years until something else is invented.
But it's not our responsibility technically really either, as the carbon reduction to meet targets is the responsibility of India not Australia, just that we have the opportunity to try to stop the mine. Which I have for one have been.
But I'm not a coal miner relying on a job to eat and can certainly sympathise with them.
That's democracy, everyone is entitled to their view and I don't pretend that I live in Townsville and am unemployed and depressed. I genuinely feel for those in this position.
The quality of the coal in this Galilee basin area is not that good anyway as far as I have researched.
India also simply does not have the infrastructure to run power lines across their country anyway, so why dig up coal for a coal fired power station that may not be built anyway. But LLC can build this infrastructure so there I have a conflict of interest.
Solar in houses is such a better option..but who pays for this power in each individual house when hundreds of millions are extremely poor.
It's a tough one and won't happen as quick as we may like....but humans are resourceful little cracks when our back is against the wall.
Feel free to offer opinions but we are on a dying planet unless we get out Shite together real quick.

In Agreement!
Ill keep it simple.
All is energy......therefore all is because of energy !
Humanity has lived in harmony with the planet at stages of the cycle.
When we live in disharmony with the planet we get localised corrections.
In the past we have had planetary corrections at our lowest points, which i believe we are moving back too again. This is purely the Karmic Cycle of universal energy.
We as a human race have become blind too the Ill Energy we chose to live from, the planetary energetic flow will correct this giving humanity another opportunity to realign with the universal truth, that all are one and one is all. We currently live in separation from relationships to countries etc, when in truth we are all innately one soulful body divided into many but still from the one.
