JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - East Nusa Tenggara ( NTT ) Governor Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat has promised to stop all mining activities in his territory. That policy is one that he will implement in the near future. "Mine, all of us are moratoriums," Viktor said when met after his inauguration at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (05/09/2018).
During the moratorium, he and the special team will examine whether the mining activity has fulfilled the rules and regulations or not. Including the matter of whether the activity is feasible or not. Viktor said, NTT is an area with beautiful natural wealth. He did not want mining activities to damage the beauty. "It's a small but beautiful place. So if a small and beautiful person is not allowed and cannot be disturbed," Viktor said.
Along with that, Viktor will optimize agricultural and livestock production. These two sectors are commodity advantages from NTT. "Agriculture, because of dry land, we will push for multicultural. We are serious about multicultural. National programs have corn, rice and soybeans," Viktor said.
