Interesting article on the ABC regarding Apple's new iOS9 update enabling mainstream online advert blocking tech on apple devices.

This really illustrates the significance of UGC coupled with social media marketing. The advertising and online marketing world is shifting big time and we are in the box seats to ride the next wave of change. Businesses are now urgently looking for new / more effective ways and channels to market online and their ultimate goal is to engage their consumers on a more personal level and to get them to interact with and feel a part of their company.

Nothing has more potential to do so than UGC and social media, a post or tweet is content not some popup banner especially when they create discussion amongst consumers. If "Max Powers" is taking a selfie showing off his new Nike shoes and Nike decide to use his image in one of their posts with good old Max tagged in it can you imagine the responses from all of Max's friends seeing him in his 5 seconds of fame. It would create a huge amount of discussion, likes, shares etc... Now multiply this by all the restaurants people eat at, movies they see, holidays they go on, cars, bikes, boats they buy... This has the potential to be very big. The best bit is that shareroot is not limited to any market segment.

Now the scene is set, the potential is there, It's up to Shareroot to make the most out of the opportunities in the market place.

Hey wheresmypants, you're right about most of your post and you summed up the opportunity well. However, content marketing has been the buzzword since 2012. And people knew how important is it. The difference is that today only a select few brands and marketers know how to effectively drive marketing through content. One of the main pillars of content marketing is the user engagement and producing shareable content with deep and far reach. This is where ShareRoot wins because brands can now not only curate content for their sites and promotional material but they can generate more deep and insightful campaigns that will actually drive brand value further through engagement.

I've been watching this space for a while now and I am confident that these guys are on the money. I mean they have integrated with FB, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and will be adding more. With clients like Costco and EBay - they are building an impressive client portfolio. My guess would be that their SaaS will have a solid enterprise user base including all major airlines, governments state, local. Universities and restaurants and hotels. Basically anyplace where you would look for user engagement before every trying out a product or service.

It is an exciting space with some massive potential.
