Its annyoing that the share price is trailing the NTA by some way, but I think the overhang of the top-up shares is one of the reasons. Once that and the latest NTA is released I think we may seem some upward movement.
Just in regards to CTN picking up shares in CCQ.
The CCQ share price is running at a 56% discount to NTA, but its worth noting some of the stocks that they own.
The two biggest listed stocks held are NAB and WBC with 32% and this month they've both done well. Buying into CCQ you could say that this gives CTN a little bit of coverage owning large cap stocks through another vehicle at a hefty discount and the portfolio has a reasonably strong dividend yield.
CCQ also own 50% of CAML which is the manager of CTN, CCQ and Contango's retail side, so any profits that the manager makes 50% will flow back into CCQ then obviously CTN own 8.26% of that.
Another point to mention, Geoff Wilson is a highly respected asset manager who runs WAM and WAM Active, (WAA) has been building a position in CCQ, so obviously he can see value.
