Not unexpected. Investors should beware of mining in places like The Philippines, Indonesia and the South Pacific. Mining is not suited to these lush, densely populated tropical areas with heavy rainfall. It trashes the environment so foreigners can make a few bucks. Governments are waking up and will put an end to it. Quite frankly, the little money they get from it is not worth the environmental devastation. We should be more ethical in our investing and not be contributing to this. There are plenty of other places on earth which are more suitable.
