Its not his job to manage the share price, his job is securing the business for the long term. He is doing this, he is squeezing his competitors at a time when most cannot keep above water level and cash is burning very fast - he is taking a rational approach out of the irrational macro landscape. He can afford to. The Seven netwrok business can afford to.
The investments he has made are not all great, but they dont have to be, like Unwired. But, in the long term he will have control (maybe not 100% - but at least board or management say) of the dominant media outlets in Australia. A very smart man and smart play in the current environment.
