Is it possible that the MD is driven by two forces, manic egoism and uncontrollable greed?. Of course not / but those characteristics seem to be displayed in this saga. Consider the greed of a man who wanted everything for himself, the trader in derivatives, desperately looking for a win situation for himself, not a win/win for shareholders. The egoism that cannot face the fact that this has been a mighty stuff/up and those who caused it (the board led by the MD) will be the laughing stock of the market place when the truth is exposed.
