Hi all
The website has been updated with 5 issues papers
See http://malaria2012conference.com/materials.php
There are some excellent pieces there which does show to me that EMS and Artimist can play a meaningful and significant role in the fight against malaria.
Isses Paper #2 which discusses the financing aspect I thought was a very good read, as was #5 which discusses the role of the private sector and some of the challenges faced there.
If Steve can navigate his way through this talkfest this could be a very big step foward for Artimist once the trial results are released.
IMO the representatives here can really help in prioritising Artimist during the registration/approval process, as well as ultimately provide funding to the production/distribution of the product.
From the article I recently posted:
"For every dollar invested in malaria control and treatment $2 is returned through saved medical and other costs."
Seems like a good equation to me for governments and other donors to invest in malaria treatment, and items like Artimist fit the bill perfectly.
While we may not see anything tangible coming out of the conference (although I remain hopeful we do - at the very least the poster presentations), I dont think we can underestimate the opportunity the company has by having its CEO at this conference.
