From the President of B2Gold on the conference call -
"Very few projects like this (PIR) in the world"
"When we like a project, we get very aggressive in the right way when we pull the trigger"
Questions from the Gallery:
From Deutche Bank - 1. How much involvement will the existing PIR team have in the Mali project on the ground? - At this stage no change on a country level.
2. How confident are you with the operating environment in Mali at the moment?
- We are learning very quickly, we have a project in Bakina Faso at the moment. We have been watching very closely and have done extensive due diligence in the country. We will rely on Mark & his team to continue with the process in country.
From Bell Potter - 1. PIR will retain 26% ownership in B2Gold, how does this effect the ownership in the total group and will this allow PIR shareholders to block special resolutions?
- Wouldn't be a control block as the 26% is spread over a number of shareholders. B2Gold looking to come down to do some marketing in Australia to keep as many Australian shareholders as possibly to get exposure to the upside in B2Gold.
From Mining News - 1. How long you have been in talks with B2Gold and were there other parties involved in talks?
- In discussion with B2gold over the last couple of months. The conducted a site visit earlier in the year. No comment on whether other parties were involved, seemed to 'forget' that question...
