I think the clingons are crispy and well and truly burnt off by now.
It appears to have been another coordinated earth wide attack by the time-travelling ex-banker pirates who were exiled to earth's man-made paper moon in 2020.
These pirates keep attacking earth in the early 21st century in an attempt to alter the continuum of time and prevent the passage of the global banking exile act, but personally I think they are just making the situation worse for themselves.
But that is a story for another day.
