Well BOS compounds are certainly more effective, and also decrease costs associated with handling toxic chemicals. These two factors should give BOS compounds the competitive advantage it needs to launch a successful product.
Interesting also that the compounds are effective even at lower concentrations, so this will make it easier for BOS to be price-competitive with other solutions. However, I would suggest given the R&D into these compounds and the significant advantages they hold will point to BOS charging a premium.
Glutaraldehyde looks to be a pretty cheap chemical, just a matter of whether the big companies think that BOS compounds are worth the extra money. I would also suggest that this is a resounding YES. I imagine they will pay big bucks to get a better product, just look at how much this corrosion costs the industry! They could easily pay 1/100th of this to avoid these costs. Ie... 1/100 of 2 billion is still 20 million.
