    Skint,

Thanks for the research summary.  I very much appreciate your efforts to bring us this information.  Yes, Bernie's idea or some version of it makes sense, but it might have to come from more than Bernie.  He's being tarred with a wide brush (which will undoubtedly get much worse) and, unfortunately, his ideas will suffer along with him.
The need for a strategy to confront antibiotic resistance is obvious.  MRSA with VSA killed my mother-in-law back in 2015.  The doctors tried their best and in final desperation used their last "best shot" that didn't dent the bacteria but had extremely nasty side-effects and so it ended.
As your summary points out - our current tradition of sales generating profit is counter-intuitive when it comes to dealing with antibiotic resistance.  How much can you sell and how fast can you sell it (oh, it's the latest and greatest - let's use it for everything) is a gift to the world of bacteria.  "Great it kills 99.999% or something like that, but it's that tiny little .001% that survives and goes on to wreak havoc.
Yes, the traditional reward system must be re-considered...and soon.  We, as a society, have been fortunate to dodge some bullets but, it's not a matter of if, but when, a resistant, aggressive microorganism comes at us leaving us as helpless as pre-renaissance Europe facing the bubonic plague.
         Meanwhile we wait.

    [Some ax-grinding on my part]
         Still waiting...

Looked over the results of that dandy AGM (November 16, 2018).  Three of the six resolutions were devoted to making sure our "valiant leaders" were being well compensated.  They sure know how to 'feather the nest," but when it comes to astute leadership - I leave it to all of you.

Our leaders, driving this company white-knuckled through the perilous seas of drug development, approval, and (?) cocktail parties/golf outings/etc.  didn't have a clue about the research coming out of UQ!
Thanks to HeadSet - we probably found out about it long before they did.

Thank you Pivalde for alerting the attentive, on the ball, Prana leadership about the research that was published by the institutions across the street concerning PBT2 over two months earlier!  They didn't have a clue!!!

    Still waiting...

And now that members of this board have pointed out how the information (re PBT2 + Zn + antibiotic = dead [formerly antibiotic resistant] bacteria) has been published in numerous journals, we're still waiting for soiree to end and an announcement from Prana.

I guess they think Prana is the only fish in the sea on this one, except it seems like there were several other promising finds (re new drugs to confront the antibiotic resistant organisms).

    And still we wait...

Yes, I'm less than thrilled with our leadership, or lack of such!!!
