I think a large portion of the SP hike last week was due to the huge amount of shorts being forced to close as the SP crept up.

Wayward1 has a good point when looking at it technically but at the same time I do think a portion of that jump on Thursday/Friday last week was likely due to certain people knowing what was coming. How big a portion I would not know. We will likely never know...
