Wink you make a good point that previous announcements appearing to be optimistic.
The fundamental problem with your argument is that Dr Currie was officially part of the OIL board at the time the announcements you consider were 'optomistic' and therefore Dr Currie should not be admonished from being a part of that group back then or indeed today.
I've just reviewed and Dr Currie joined the board with the blessing and backing of the WA shareholders group around June 2017 but as I understand was agitating from late 2016 for a seat on the board and being supported hard by the WA investor network.
Dr Currie is now the only constant in the equation who has ruled over the period June 2017 to September 2018, where the OIL share price and market cap have significantly reduced from $55m to $23m.
He may well be a fine Doctor in his specific field but DYOR and check when Dr Currie's sphere of influence came into OIL and review the performance facts of OIL announcements, share price and market cap position since then.
Peter Delaney is actually not sick but is not working at OIL as the company stopped paying him when he was indeed very sick a number of months ago around March or April 2018.
The decision to stop payments to a founder and senior executive with 20 years loyal service you would think in any ASX company would have been made with major input from the most senior and long standing board member at the time.
It would be considered good governance practice by many companies to explain this to shareholders and to the market with an announcement as it is potentially significant information IMHO
Maybe Dr Currie truley believes that he doesn't need the founder of the OIL technology and the single most respected and experienced person in the world on the technical, clinical and practicle application of the OIL technology that being Dr Peter Delaney.
Zeiss have know and trusted Peter Delaney for a very long time.
I had not thought about this before in such depth and had not fully considered the power and influence that Dr Currie now has over everything OIL.
Thank you Wink for prompting me to review the timing and events that have led us to where we are, it is now falling into place for me.
We may have a Doctor running the house with the exact board make-up he always wanted and with no one around with any OIL history such at Ian Mann or Peter Delaney to question anything he does.
Zeiss must be shaking their heads in disbelief, as now am I
