FYI - It will be ECG that catapults vest measures - from an ECG you can derive respiratory rate. It would not be difficult to use the same electrodes to monitor "muscle activation" although they may require different placement as usually this interferes with ECG signals and electrodes are placed over boney areas Etc to minimise this. Its all just electrodes on the skin all these metrics can be derived from the electrical signals.
