CC - Are you talking to the client market? from my time in these markets, I believe marketing is a very minor part - the relevant guys in this industry talk to each other, know what the various systems produce and move around the existing & potential client base. - they don't buy marketing!
What really matters and what the clients are buying is quality in the form of accuracy & reliability of data - and to have full ownership of their data & the ability download the data to the various third party or proprietary analytics solutions - not just the ownership of the whole stack in one system!
You state Statsports are soccer only - From what i see Statsports have the English, Irish, Scottish, French, & South African rugby federations and now 3 of 5 NZ rugby sides & numerous others teams in Japan & elsewhere. Catapult have Welsh & currently have the ARU!
In my time on this forum no-one has offered a plausible answer as to why the US / Brazilian / Chinese / English / German / Spanish / Portugese & now Australian Football Federations [or for that matter the Rugby Federations listed above] have gone with [or switched to] Statsports.
