Demetriou, McGuire and Kohler in 3D printing play

If you needed any further evidence that 3D printing is the new lithium, you need look no further than a most interesting listing that will be taking place on Thursday.
The company is called 333D, and it makes and sells 3D printers. So far, so unremarkable.
Throw into the mix the fact that this company only last year signed an exclusive deal with the AFL to produce 3D printed official merchandise (think everything from club logos to commemorative medals to terrifyingly lifelike player figurines) and it gets more interesting.
Factor in the fact that 333D shareholders include none other than former AFL CEO Andrew Demetriou, Broadmeadows' most-famous son (and Collingwood president), Eddie McGuire, Mr Finance himself Alan Kohler, and a man who is no stranger to the 3D printing space, John Conidi – whose company Capitol Health is chaired by, you guessed it, Demetriou.
Some pretty big names for a company that will list with a $14 million cap.
All eyes will be watching closely on Thursday to see whether 333D does as fellow player in the 3D printing space, Perth-based Aurora Labs did before it and climbs quickly to five times its listing price.
Last week, Aurora Labs (A3D) listed for 50¢ and today is sitting pretty at $1.28. Ka-ching!
