It's not optimism, day to day share price movements don't phase me too much due to my investment strategy.
I don't plan on selling AXT any time soon. My pay off for holding AXT will arrive when AXT sells it's PANR holdings.
Any price gap which opens up between the two shares to the point of sale isn't really relevant, because the gap will mostly close once the PANR shares are monetized.
It would look great for the portfolio if the gap wasn't there and AXT was more closely tracking PANR, but as I don't plan to sell, a higher AXT share price now would serve more to stroke my ego than anything else.
I have the patience to execute this strategy, and it also helps that I'm up many multiples of my initial investment in both AXT & PANR.
I'd also suggest recent weakness may have something to do with AUD v GBP after Brexit.
Cheers!

Thanks for your input on this thread
When AXT finally sells their stake in PANR and the shares are monetized what do you think the end game will be???
Maybe issue a once of dividend to shareholders???
Cheers
