For a while I was purchasing on Independant Reserve and transferring the bitcoin into Coinspot. That is how I managed my way around it. Downfall was the fees, although they felt quite low. Ironic that the government stops payments staying in Australia but didn't consider money leaving Australia for the purpose of it.
