You are right vistaboy. Typical alt to alt trading now loses 5-10% off the bat, closer to 10% with most of my trading pairs making trades pretty risky in a volatile market. I have ceased trading until this is rectified. The spread is meant to offset volatility, but one could easily see it as lack of competition; notice Bitcoin does not have the spread issue, and this is an area with local competition.
