Here are some thoughts, and some thoughts that no doubt the coalition would probably propagate if they are in opposition.
The government (coalition) has presided over the worst housing market collapse in decades..
Their policies have caused an unsustainable boom and subsequently a bust and the national economy is about to feel the impact of these policies.
They had allowed the financial institutions to flood the the market with debt unchecked, creating subprime lending conditions. They fought the opposition parties to prevent the banks from being investigated. When they finally capitulated on the call for an RC it was too late in the cycle and prices are now collapsing from a higher level than what it could or would have been.
To make things worst they propagate lies, alternative facts/truths, use flimsy ‘evidence’ predict what impact proposed opposition tax policies will have on the market which has driven most investors out of the market.
These events, policies rhetoric have cause prices to slide and made ALL buyer types cautious so owners are struggling to sell and the fear of further equity erosion is driving more and more owners wanting to get out or sell out because of FONGO.
It is not the opposition presiding/governing over these chain of events and the start of the possibly the worst recession Aust has had in decades, it is the coalition presiding over them..
They won’t be sad to loose the coming election, they may even be happy. Some of them (Keenan, Pyne, O’dywer, etc) have already decided its time to let someone else come in and try to clean up the after party mess they made. I wouldn’t be surprised if more decide to ‘retire’ from politics.
