Aren't the quarterlies due out today?
New shorts each day are still relatively (~16k) low versus earlier in the month (50k to 180k), even though the SP range is higher (150's vs upper 160's).
Perhaps shorts have lost confidence and are rather trying to work out how to closeout the 1.3 million outstanding when selling pressure has dried up.
Aren't the quarterlies due out today? New shorts each day are...
