I wish the jokers in the back row, lead by old cronies like Abbott and Abetz etc. would sit down shut up and look at what the people want. Wake up and make laws that correspond to the groundswell movement from the populace as a whole, companies (even they realise the benefits of moving away from FF) and other governments (Sweden, Germany) around the world.

Show a united front for once. These fractured political parties that have internal power plays and go around deposing their leaders don't do themselves any favours. If they showed a strong united front perhaps voters would have confidence in what they stand for and deliver them for back to back terms that go longer than 6ish years as they have for the last 2 stints from the liberals and labour.   I like Turnbull (out of the last 4 or 5 options) but he's been crippled by his parties own internal squabbling.

Coal has its place in the energy mix (utilising existing facilities till their end of life) but to spend 4 billion on a new plant when you have a multitude of alternatives available is absolutely ridiculous. What could we build for that money? Multiple solar plants - SPT, SUT, PV farms, battery systems, wave energy implementation, wind energy expansion, review the building code to force new builds to be energy sustainable, retrofitting landfills (lined) and building new land fills to harvest gas, build waste to power plants (biomass), hydrogen implementation, algae research, research and development to improve efficiency of existing tech and dare I say nuclear - surely that has to be looked at for a $4billion capital investment (apart from the fuel disposal its emission free). Cold fusion (<-jokes).   Imagine the things CCE could do with ceto and microgrid (the cash burn rate convo's would be interesting)...

Coal to me is obsolescent and to put massive investment into coal now seems crazy, I would definitely vote against a politician that pushed a 4billion coal plant.
