Whilst we are on the subject T-Spot recommend sodium citrate or sodium heparin Vacutainer tubes from Becton Dickinson or lithium heparin blood collection tubes. For those using lithium heparin blood collection tubes the Ficoll extraction method, using Ficoll equipment and additives, is recommended. Tubes such as vacuette EDTA tubes (eg Greiner) are not recommended. OI can supply BD tubes but as there are so few OI outlets I would imagine that users would locate their own.

This all sounds very complicated and the process presents many opportunities for operator error
