    I wonder if Hawke's Point want to be the one providing finance to CMM for the mine development? That way they essentially get the economic benefit of the gold. They can do what Macbank does when there is slippage by the debtor and demand more goodies from CMM (which is what happened with PGI, BDR, and ADU - those which I followed with MacBank funding). ADU escaped their clutches by arranging a merger with EDV, but they other two never really recovered.

    If my speculation on this is right then they will demand a much higher premium from RRL for their shares and that may not be accepted. In which case CMM and its shareholders will be left to the tender mercies of Hawke's Point. Of course this is just a wild supposition.

    My take on Hawkes Point and their parent company is they make their money from being lenders, and it surprised me to see them as equity holders of this tiddler.
