Marathon Oil says Eagle Ford Shale is the top Posted on 04/26/2012 by vvaughan
Here’s what Houston-based Marathon Oil Corp. thinks of the Eagle Ford Shale: “Marathon views the Eagle Ford as the premier liquids-rich resource play in North America …”
That’s from Marathon’s fact book, which it sent recently to interested parties.
Marathon said it holds 300,000 acres in the Eagle Ford, making it one of the Top 5 leaseholders in the shale. The company said it’s focused on drilling in Atascosa, DeWitt, Gonzales, Karnes and Wilson counties.
The company has 17 rigs in the Eagle Ford Shale now and will add another by June.
often premier oil plays also dont get sold off for nix
imho those operators like texon, whom have 3d's and full geology surveys, as well as proven wells and proven reserves are also able to ask more than the base entry price of $25,000 an acre thats being asked fro unproven acreage jvps's out there..
my view is that any deal being set at $25 k per acre is going to struggle, and i think even rbs would not support low ball bids in that district.
if a bid arrives through rbs in brisbane, will they have the ability to comment and recommend impartially to their respective shareholder clients? after all, rbs is not an specialist oil company advisor, consultant firm or takeover specialist advisor is it??
