To me the whole problem with mate and guys is the feminist movement where females proclaimed their independence and to prove they were as good as, the same as men, and then threw out their femininity.
We now have the PC system where we are no allowed to call people female or male so once again they all become guys or mates.
There does not seem to be any place for feminine females in society, the PC brigade has done away with them
