The environmental damage by continuing to burn coal as opposed to produce electricity through solar, wind, is not debatable to rational thinking people. Even the pollution grom lithium barreries is a drop in the ocean compared to the polluting fossil fuels, but I admire your hopes of humans planting more trees to offset coal. Sadly all the good intentions for saving forest cover is failing as the planet continues to lose millions and millions of hectares of forest every year, not gaining it.
