You make the mistake of putting people in one basket. People who want action are not greenies, they are across the entire spectrum of society . It is clear that it is the deniers that are in a very narrow section of community and should be dealt with as people who want damage, not progressive change.
Planting trees is great, bring it on but sadly forests around the world are disappearing ar a phenomenal rate not helped by activities such as coal mining.
The call for total renewables by 2030 from the thousands of protesting students aroubd the globe is not realistic and I see fossil fuel powered electrical generation as something that will be around for a long while but the stance for renewables is honourable to say the least and allng with it comes great renewable solutions and depsite the fact that diesel generators and coal fired power is still at large around the world renewable energy is now a no brainer in even just an economic sense let alone helping to reduce global warming, thanks to technology.
Cosl will be consigned to history soon enough. And it's important to not forget that is is the power companies that are choosing to close their coal fired power stations because they are not economically viable anymore. Simple. Nothing else to it
