I wonder why people who supposedly have no holding in BAL are...

I wonder why people who supposedly have no holding in BAL are such busy and virulent detractors of the company on this site? I guess they would say they’re community minded, trying to protect others from a bad investment. Some other possibilities come to mind:
1. They have lost money on it in the past and want to confirm their reason for selling. 
2. They have a lot of anger and bitterness due to (1) and need to vent.
3. The idea of the stock going up and missing out because they've sold is too much, so they talk it down in the hope it stays there.

I don’t regard all criticism as negativity. It can be useful when it’s informed and balanced, and to counter ungrounded optimism and company spin. But a feature of the negative posts here is their nastiness, usually directed against someone who disagrees with them or asks for evidence to support their position. And in nearly all cases the posters don’t own stock. Back to my original question.
