Totally agree Hedg, this is an issue that should be determined by the science and established best practice, not fear broadcast on social media, without any rationalisation beyond it might be harmful, at some point in the future, maybe even a "climate change event".

All disregarding the fact Lynas has stored the WLP in the prescribed manner as witnessed by all the Govt regulators at Yeo Inc's own review, which of course the Minister could not be bothered attending!!!

Yeo Inc attempting to create fear in the populace, now distilled down to some feeble future fear, but easily amplified on electronic social media, in doing so creating an enemy of the people, ideally a foreign devil, classic Goering:

"Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

When/if reason fails Lynas may just need employ the same social media to highlight the decades of malpractice NORM, particularly amang residues from tin mining, in contrast to international best practice at LAMP. Turn that fear back on the ruling class Malaysia and their continued inactivity under the new Govt, a full on assault on all the hotspots all over Malaysia.

Just watch how quickly the new rulers update the NORM regs to international standards if such a campaign were carried out successfully, asking why Yeo Inc is not doing anything to protect the people from these unregulated dangers all around them, in contrast a prescribed petro/chem industrial estate.
