This is the answer I got from the special counsel. It's not much but it's enough for now. Most important is to remind them that they answer to us and keep the pressure on. I omitted some detail for privacy reasons.

Dear xxx,

I refer to your email sent to IMF on 4 April 2018 asking whether there is any news regarding your claim.  We act for the applicant in the above matter and IMF passed your enquiry onto us.

In answer to your query, the parties have reached an in principle settlement, the details of which are still being discussed.  We are unable to disclose any details at this stage for confidentiality reasons.

We will provide a further update to Group Members as soon as we are able.
