Usually one will be ill the next from contact with grandchildren seeing their grandparents off on a cruise and from there wham bam thankyou mam.
So it may not be due to poor sanitisation practices, but what you are saying, is due to either indirectly or direct contact with people prior to boarding and once onboard.
