BOTs and big traders get to sell or buy parcels in ANY size and only get charged 1 brokerage fee on ALL trades made for that stock at end of trade day. Can do hundreds of 1 share sells all day and only 1 brokerage fee.
Of course the BOTs are run by banks etc so they don't get charged any fees as the Banks ARE the Market Makers! And Banks are involved in the DARK POOLS where 30% of trades are matched.
If you are a serious day trader you would have a trading account as such. NOT available to retail from bank trading suppliers. Independent brokers only supply such accounts.
