yellowcake might want to spend a bit more time on the Murray before being so critical of it as a production region. Any casual observer looking at the WA wheatbelts prospects would conclude that it is a prime victim of climate change (as forecast by various leading climate groups to be one of the areas worst effected by declining rainfall) whilst at the same time drowning in dryland salinity! LOL!!
I'm sure some small blocks remain viable ?
Much of the Murrays salinity problem has quite literally disappeared in the last decade with salinity levels in the river declining by half (before the huge inflows from the South Australian Riverland irrigation projects...)
