Too true
There is a saying --- nothing happens in a vacuum
Governments and "experts" always look for a quick way of explaining what happened rather then the cause, eg: they are reactive rather than pro-active
Such deep thought is beyond the ability or intelligence of the bulk of our leaders, but throughout history ( eg : the French revolution) there is always a point where the general public rebel if they are ignored or put down for too long
Our leaders are supposed to follow the peoples requirements not engineer the result they want to happen
Certainly no leader in the world will put a referendum to the public again unless they are forced to do it, eg the Brexit vote which the leaders have been fighting to get overturned since the result was announced and they will obviously overturn the peoples choice ultimately, in Australia we had the "false" postal vote which they used to get the SSM result through with about 25% of the population vote
Our politics we are sliding to large swings from left to right and the people on the extremes will be the ones who cause the trouble
I am certain that no average right thinking Australian will accept that what happened in NZ was the right solution to what he obviously was stressed about but they have to accept that this act was not a spur of the moment brain storm but he, IMHO acted to what he saw as a major problem within his world
Terror is a cheap cowards way to act, as the general population have zero control over the government and acting this way only gives the leaders an excuse to tighten the very problems that he perceived to be at fault in the world
As we have often told "there are no bad children just bad parents" so it is the same with acts like this which are a direct result of the people above us acting against the people they are supposed to represent
