    Personally I have not seen manufacturers negotiate hedged agreements with their suppliers.
    More commonly there are clauses for price / volume variation which is tied to the price of the underlying commodity.
    Therefore, if CCL were to guess that sugar prices were to skyrocket, they would have to do an 'investment' buy, by ordering heaps before the price went up.
