Neuroscience is one of the youngest sciences but nowadays its possible to connect to a single neuron and get an idea of the thought it carries.
Developments in quantum science combined with neurology and psychology will IMO make huge strides int he next 100 years.
It won't be long before one's thoughts can be accurately read and later this will move into the area that is currently named the sub-conscious and unconscious.
By then we should know a great deal more about the source of religious impulse and how it operates---something innate in all individuals.
