    Maybe you're on to something.

I know that rejection can be a very good way of having somebody spend their life trying to ingratiate themselves with you, or constantly seeking your approval. Religion that never comes to a satisfactory conclusion may have a not dissimilar effect. People don't do rejection well, and religion is a one-sided romance, particularly when prophecies are so abstruse that you have to supposition your tits off to come up with some kind of meaning, like 144,000 going off to rule with God. That one won the blue ribbon for creative thinking.

That's all I was doing. I don't have a clue what this stuff really means, or was it simply the ramblings of some poor old guy in a cave?

As for the religion, I'm pretty sure that the Baha'i Faith is the religion that all other religions were prophesying. Once again it takes a little bit of tweaking to get some prophecies to fit, others fit with astonishing precision. Their establishment in 1844 is the done deal for me and the fact that they have established their world centre down the face of Mt Carmel. That's pretty damn Bibley prophetic if you ask me. 1844 is the date that almost all Christian religions accepted as the return of a Christ figure, it's the date that produced the Mormons, Seventh Day and the Jehovah Witness and hundreds of other Christian based religions, and the Baha'i Faith looks and feels like a real religion. Good luck to Kam.

So while I do not think what you have written unkind at all, the problem is that life and religion have turned out to be ordinary and nobody wants ordinary. They want miracles and transformative magic. They want evil irradiated instantly. They want justice for all right now. An end to poverty, war, inequality right now and it turns out that it is us that has to fix this stuff over a really long and boring time frame.

And they want God damn smiting. Where is the smiting I was promised? The ladies dogs next door bark all the time, where is this so called God when you need Him? Why can't He command ticks to deal with these dogs?

In the Baha'i Faith from my limited understanding, you get the work up sheet with a few instructions as an aid, but then it's you and your cohorts that have to do all the hard work. You have to work for justice for all, world unity, equality, removal of prejudice, an equitable exchange and sharing of the earths resources and so on and so forth.

I got to tell you I feel pretty deflated. And here in lies the pattern, everybody wants something for nothing. They want to talk this stuff but not walk this stuff, because it requires real sacrifice to change the world, so it's best to just wait and talk about what God's going to do when He's finished having His afternoon nap, remembering that God's afternoon nap is 2,000 human years.

Turns out we have to help ourselves, I was so looking forward to the fireworks.
