Since you are into quotes, here is one from Ralph Waldo Emerson;
There is no history only biography.
History is fluid and for ever being interpreted and rewritten so you can be right today and wrong tomorrow.
My concern is that the young are not taught the value of history--something that allows us to appreciate the good and bad times and how we came to be.
Without the young thinking a bit more deeply than who's that on the Facebook page they remain open to exploitation.
There was once and still is slavery of the body, but the modern era is an example of the growing slave trade of the mind.
Without us understanding what's happening to our values and how we fit into the world, atrocities will continue.
IMO the world is heading into a new dark age where opinions are poles apart and unable to be compromised--violence is our constant companion.
