Only just got back after holidaying in NZ for 4 weeks visiting my In-laws both North and South Isle.
One of my Brother-In-laws had been working as a painter over the last few years in Christchurch.
He had worked with a fair few Muslims during that time. I asked him as a general question "What he thought of them and if he had engaged with them very much during that time:. He made it clear to me that many of them were very happy to be in a such a beautiful country where freedom and tolerance towards one another was widely practised throughout their local and general community.
Especially, engagement with the Maori community. Suppose, being victimised, having been segregated, initially having their land stolen from them, being forced to not be allowed to learn their own culture, their own language, Remember the "Piggy Muldoon Days", where Maoris were not allowed to be taught or practice their own language at school. Is it any wonder that a certain mutual respect would entwine both Maoris and Muslims.
This unfortunate tragedy today which was very well designed and orchestrated was purposely put in place to destabilise a nation, which before today, was regarded as one of the safest countries in the world. New Zealand, today had a wake up call.
If and when there are reprisals, IMO Australia has the highest probability of a terrorist target, thanks to a Right Wing Extremist and cohorts.going on the rampage for an easy soft target causing the maximum carnage. These extremist groups need to be wiped of the map.
I didn't bother reading this guys manifesto, nore did I bother to watch the videos.
It's bad enough that it happened.
We don't need to be bombarded with every single media second of the atrocity of murder.
That's it from me.
There will be loved ones and communities grieving tonight as well as extremists celebrating.
Won't say anymore.
