If you want to do more than drown your sorrows in gin, then I suggest you pay better attention to what your shares are doing.
They went X rights today. Adding the value of the rights they are actually up quite nicely for the day.
Further advice would be that you do not neglect your rights, they are valuable. You need to either sell them before they EXPIRE, or exercise them.
