- Focus on strengthening economic and business ties between WA and Beijing
Premier Mark McGowan will travel to China this week for a series of meetings focused on strengthening economic ties to Beijing and promoting Western Australia.
Mr McGowan will visit Beijing for the first time as Premier on June 6-9, where he will meet with representatives from government and business.
The mission will focus on strengthening the State's robust relationship with key Chinese Central Government agencies, and promoting our strengths in the resources sector.
The Premier will meet some of Western Australia's biggest investors from China. A roundtable discussion will take place with senior representatives of the major State-owned enterprises and a number of top private investors.
The visit follows meetings in Shanghai, Hangzhou and Japan in November last year, in which the Premier led a delegation of 40 representatives from the tourism and education sectors.
This was a key election commitment of the McGowan Labor Government aimed at diversifying the State's economy and creating jobs.
