Commitment to Nuclear power will only change when the people demand it. Our politicians are too insular and self serving to attempt anything requiring vision and courage.  Our population demographic is changing quickly with the huge influx of immigrants from modern nuclear economies like China, India, UK and South Africa so one can hope that modern ideas follow them.  

The best case has been for a plant in SA to be linked to a large desalination plant.  The scheme will provide both electricity for the national grid and water for SA cities and interior.  This in turn increases agricultural opportunities in SA and reduces the stress on our overburdened Murray- Darling system.
