We can't even get started on one Nuclear plant let alone many small modular reactors.  Australia is teeming with nimbys who can't embrace 70 year old technology ( and the vast improvements within that cast timeframe)  let alone cutting edge.   Although SMR's have many advantages, scalability, flexibility etc, the biggest problem lies in security, the same with small floating reactors.  It is much safer to secure one site - and have all specialist operators and engineers on one site. 

Large nuclear plants also have scalability. On a secure, optimally chosen site, more reactors can be added.  If we began construction of ONE large modern plant now, it could provide up to one fifth of our energy needs and would be expected to run for almost the rest of the century!

The benefits of cheap energy to the population and the economy are immense.
