I reckon we could roll out loads of SMRs much faster or indeed given Australia's population is almost entirely coastal the new Russian floating reactors look like a cracking solution.

I think if we cut away some of the red tape we could have a fleet of modern safe reactors in just over 10 years with all the domestic fuel we could ever need... add wind, solar and existing hydro and we could be almost entirely energy independent (given that EVs will likely be outselling ICE vehicles by then)
